THE BRENT (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) (NO. 1, 2012) (AMENDMENT NO. ) ORDER 201

1.  NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Brent propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 35, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985, the Parking Acts of 1986 and 1989 and the Traffic Management Act 2004.

2.  The general effect of the Orders would be to amend the Brent (Parking Places) (No. 3 of 1997, Nos. 1 and 2 of 1998, Nos. 2 and 3 of 1999, No. 9 of 2000, Nos. 1 and 5 of 2001, Nos. 1 and 3 of 2002, Nos. 4, 6, 9, 10 and 11 of 2003, Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 and 10 of 2004, Nos. 1 and 2 of 2005, No. 1 of 2006, Nos. 1, 2 and 4 of 2007, Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of 2008, No. 1 of 2009, Nos. 1, 2 and 4 of 2010 and No. 1 of 2012) Orders, and the Brent (Off-Street Parking Places) (No. 1) Order 2012 so that:

(a) all Controlled Parking Zone and off-street car park resident, business or household visitor’s permits would be applied for either on-line or over the telephone, with an option to pay by cash at an authorised retail outlet;

(b) all Controlled Parking Zones visitor’s permits (scratchcards) would be paperless electronic permits which would be applied for either on-line or over the telephone with the provision that previously issued paper permits would be accepted until 31.10.13;

(c) minor drafting amendments were made to update the Orders.

3.  A copy of the proposed Orders, of the relevant Brent (Parking Places) Orders of 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012 (and of the relevant Orders which have amended those Orders) and the Brent (Off-Street Parking Places) (No. 1) Order 2012, of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders and of maps to which the Orders relate can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders at:

(a) The One Stop Local Office, Brent Town Hall, Forty Lane, Wembley, Middx HA9 9HX;

(b) The One Stop Local Office, Brent House, 349-357 High Road, Wembley, Middx HA9 6BZ.

5.  Persons desiring to make representations or to object to any of the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections, and the grounds thereof, to The Head of Transportation, Highway and Transport Delivery, 2nd Floor (west) Brent House, 349 - 357 High Road, Wembley, Middx, HA9 6BZ, quoting the reference TO/12/182/EAM, to arrive no later than 21 days from the date of publication of this notice.
