ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE LEWISHAM (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (NO. 1) TRAFFIC ORDER 2012
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lewisham Council made this order under the provisions of section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the 3 February 2012. The order comes into force on the 20 February 2012.
1. The general nature and effect of the order is to revoke articles 3 and 5 of the G.L.C.’s Lewisham (Prescribed Routes) (No.
4) Traffic Order 1981 (which provided for road closure at a point in Beadnell Road close to junction Stanstead Road) and reproduce their provisions with the following variations:–
(a) redefining the location of the existing point of closure to vehicles in Beadnell Road close to the junction with Stanstead Road as being between 13 and 16.5 metres northeast of the Stanstead Road north kerb line; and
(b) allowing exemption for pedal cycles to pass through the closure point.
2. Further exemptions from the closure include ambulance, fire brigade and police vehicles in an emergency and anything done
with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
3. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the order and measures can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays at the office of Lewisham Highways Development, Wearside Service Centre (Door-to-door Building), Wearside Road, Ladywell, London, SE13 (tel. 020-8314 2265).
4. Any person wishing to question the validity of the order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not
within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument or relevant regulation made under the Act has not been complied
with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
