ROAD HUMPS (SALISBURY AVENUE AND WILMINGTON GARDENS, BARKING)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in exercise of the powers conferred by section 90A, 90C and 90CA of the Highways Act 1980 (hereinafter called “the Act”) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis intends to construct 75mm high, 3700mm wide road humps across the entire carriageway width in the following roads at the locations specified below:

Salisbury Avenue

59 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerbline of Longbridge Road;

29 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerbline of Somerby Road;

29 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerbline of Thorpe Road;

34 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerbline of Priory Road;

39 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerbline of Rosslyn Road;

13 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Greenslade Road;

63 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Greenslade Road;

22 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Cecil Avenue;

37 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Sherwood Gardens;

35 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Netherfield Gardens;

19 metres south-west of the of the south-western kerbline of the south-western junction of Wilmington Gardens;

29 metres north-east of the of the north-eastern kerbline of the south-western junction of Wilmington Gardens;

91 metres north-east of the of the north-eastern kerbline of the south-western junction of Wilmington Gardens;

Measurements indicate the centre of each hump. All distances are approximate.

The proposed measures are a result of the Consultation exercise carried out last year looking at options to improve road safety in the area. The road humps will assist in reducing traffic speeds along Salisbury Avenue and Wilmington Gardens thereby creating a safer environment for all road users.

Plans of the proposed measures are available for inspection at the Planning Application desk, Maritime House, Linton Road, Barking and at the Offices of the Chief Executive, Civic Centre, Dagenham between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday for a period of 21 days beginning with the date of publication of this Notice.

Any objections and other representations to the proposed Order must be made in writing stating the grounds on which they are made and sent for the attention of Saba Nathan to the address below within 21 days from the date of publication of this Notice.
