THE WALTHAM FOREST (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. 17) ORDER 2009
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 17th July 2009 the Council of the London Borough of Waltham Forest made the above-mentioned
Orders under sections 6, 84 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Speed Limit Order will be to impose a maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour for motor vehicles
on the roads specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice.
3. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Order will be to further amend The Waltham Forest (Waiting and Loading Restriction)
Consolidation Order 2008 so that waiting by vehicles would be prohibited “at any time” in parts of the streets specified in
Schedule 2 to this Notice.
4. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 21st July 2009 and other relevant documents can be inspected during
normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the expiration of a period of 6 weeks from that date, at:- (a) The
Information Desk, Town Hall, Forest Road, Walthamstow, E17; (b) The Waltham Forest Direct Shop, 265 Chingford Mount Road,
Chingford, E4 8LP; and (c) Low Hall, Argall Avenue, London, E10 7AS.
5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that they
are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof
or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks
of the making of the Orders, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

Schedule 1
(new 20 mph speed limit zone to include the following streets)
Belmont Close, Castle Avenue, Church Avenue, Gordon Avenue, Handsworth Avenue, Falmouth Avenue, St. Leonard’s Avenue and The
Charter Road, between its junction with Falmouth Avenue and Tamworth Avenue.
Schedule 2
(new waiting restrictions to operate “at any time” in the following streets, between 6-10 metres from the junction unless
otherwise stated)
CASTLE AVENUE – (a) both sides, at its junction with Falmouth Avenue, (b) the south-east side, at its junction with Church
Avenue, (c) the south-east side, at its junction with The Avenue (12 metres), (d) the north-west side, at its junction with
The Avenue (15 metres);
CHURCH AVENUE – both sides, at its junction with Castle Avenue;
FALMOUTH AVENUE – both sides, (a) at its junction with The Avenue, (b) at its junction with Castle Avenue, (c) at its junction
with Handsworth Avenue, (d) the south-west side, at its junction with Gordon Avenue;
GORDON AVENUE – both sides, at its junction with Falmouth Avenue;
HANDSWORTH AVENUE – both sides, (a) at its junction with Falmouth Avenue, (b) outside No. 61, (c) the south-east side, at
its junction with St. Leonard’s Avenue;
ST. LEONARD’S AVENUE – both sides, at its junction with Handsworth Avenue;
SHEREDAN ROAD – both sides, at its junction with Falmouth Avenue;
THE AVENUE – the south-east side, (a) at its junction with Castle Avenue (up to 15 metres), (b) at its junction with Falmouth
Avenue.
