THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE 12 GLA ROAD (HACKNEY AND TOWER HAMLETS) (40 M.P.H. SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2009
1. Transport for London, hereby gives notice that on 22 May 2009, it made the above-named Order under section 84 of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order comes into force on 26 June 2009.
2. The general nature and effect of the Order is to impose a speed limit of 40 m.p.h. on the length of the A12 GLA road between
a point 183 metres west from westernmost kerbline of Waterden Road in London Borough of Hackney and a point 68 metres south
of the northern kerbline of Balmore Close in London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
3. The roads affected by the Order are Blackwall Tunnel Northern Approach and the East Cross Route.
4. The lengths of the roads affected are currently subject to a speed limit of 30 m.p.h and 40 m.p.h.
5. A copy of the Order, and a plan indicating the location and effect of the Order can be inspected, free of charge, during normal
office hours for 6 weeks following the date on which this notice is published at the offices of:

6. Applications to the High Court challenging the legality of the Order should be made within 6 weeks of the date on which the
Order was made.
