THE WALTHAM FOREST (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (NO. *) TRAFFIC ORDER 2009
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Waltham Forest propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 84
and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Speed Limit Order would be to impose a maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour for motor vehicles
on the roads specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice.
3. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Order would be to further amend The Waltham Forest (Waiting and Loading Restriction)
Consolidation Order 2008 so that waiting by vehicles would be prohibited “at any time” in parts of the streets specified in
Schedule 2 to this Notice.
4. The general effect of the Prescribed Routes Order would be to prohibit vehicles entering or exiting Stewart Road from the
arms of Hall Road that front Nos. 33 to 43 and Nos. 44 to 54 Hall Road.
5. The general effect of the Prohibition of Stopping Outside Schools Order would be to formalise the School Keep Clear markings
on Downsell Road and Lincoln Street outside Mayville School and Downsell School respectively so that stopping on the markings
would be prohibited for any reason between 8 a.m and 4 p.m on Mondays to Fridays inclusive during school term time.
6. FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council propose to construct road humps on the roads specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice under sections 90A to
90I of the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with the provisions of the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 and the Highways
(Traffic Calming) Regulations 1999. The road humps would be constructed to cover the full width of the carriageway, be of
flat top design, 4.5 metres in length and not more than 75 millimetres at their highest point.
7. A copy of the Orders, the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders and of plans showing the locations
and effects of the Orders and the road humps, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive
until the end of 21 days from the date of this Notice at (a) The Information Desk, Town Hall, Forest Road, Walthamstow, E17;
(b) The Waltham Forest Direct Shop, 265 Chingford Mount Road, Chingford, E4 8LP; and (c) The Reception Desk, The London Borough
of Waltham Forest, Low Hall, Argall Avenue, London, E10 7AS.
8. Any person desiring to object to the proposed Orders and road humps or to make any other representation should send a statement
in writing of either their objection and the grounds thereof or of their representation to Traffic Orders, Engineering Design,
Low Hall, Argall Avenue, London, E10 7AS by 26th May 2009.
