London Borough of Bexley

THE BEXLEY (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) TRAFFIC ORDER 2009

1.  NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Bexley on 9th April 2009 made the above mentioned Order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedules 5 and 9 to the Local Government Act 1985.

2.  The general effect of the Bexley (20 mph Speed Limit) Traffic Order 2009 would be to introduce a speed limit of twenty miles per hour in the following roads:-

(a)  the whole length in Alderman Close, Crayford; Alfriston Close, Crayford; Barnock Close, Crayford; Bascombe Grove, Crayford; Carnet Close, Crayford; Courtland Close, Crayford; Falstaff Close, Crayford; Melrose Avenue, Crayford; Saltcote Close, Crayford; and Woolbrook Road, Crayford,

(b)  Galloway Drive, Crayford; between Melrose Avenue, Crayford; and

(c)  the un-named road between Bascombe Grove and Heathlee Road, Crayford.

3.  A copy of the Order, the Bexley (20 mph Speed Limit) Traffic Order 2009; the Council’s statement of reasons, and of a map which indicates the length of roads to which the Order relates can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at the Contact Centre, Civic Offices, Bexleyheath, Kent DA6 7LB.

5.  A copy of the Order may be purchased from the Traffic and Road Safety Group, 2nd Floor, Wyncham House, 207 Longlands Road, Sidcup, Kent, DA15 7JH.

6.  Persons desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been compiled with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the day on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
