PROPOSED 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE IN THE LIME TREE ESTATE AREA WITH TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES, ZEBRA CROSSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS

THE EALING (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (SPECIAL PARKING AREA) (AMENDMENT NO. *) ORDER 200*

1.  NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Ealing (“the Council”) propose to make the above mentioned Orders under sections 6, 84 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2.  The general effect of the Speed Limit Order would be to introduce a 20mph speed limit in Arliss Way, Bancroft Court, Bengarth Road, Compton Crescent, Garden Close, Godfrey Avenue, Hawtrey Avenue, Hearn Rise, Henson Place, Hindhead Gardens, Irving Avenue, Kentford Way, Laing Dean, Langtry Road, Lauder Close, Laughton Road, Lynne Way, Maurier Close, Newdene Avenue, Perry Garth, Rubens Road, Thorndike Avenue and Vanbrough Crescent.

3.  The general effect of the Waiting Restriction Order would be to impose double yellow line waiting restrictions applying at any time in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice and at the junctions of Arliss Way, Bancroft Road, Henson Place, Laing Dean, Maurier Close, and Perry Garth at their junctions with Vanbrough Crescent.

4.  FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council under the powers of section 90c of the Highways Act 1980 propose to introduce:

(a)  a series of round top road humps each with a nominal height of 75 mms and longitudinal width of 3.70 metres in

(i)  Bengarth Road: outside No. 79, outside No. 38, outside No 14 and outside No. 4 (speed cushions in Bengarth Road will be removed);

(ii)  Compton Crescent: adjacent to Nos. 55 to 71, adjacent to Nos. 37 to 53 and adjacent to Nos. 19 to 35;

(iii)  Godfrey Avenue: adjacent to No. 61 Hindhead Gardens, at common boundary of Nos. 11 and 13 and at common boundary of Nos. 49/51 and 53/55

(iv)  Hawtrey Avenue: at the common boundary of Nos. 55 and 57, outside No. 43 (replaces existing speed cushions), at south-western boundary of No. 41, at common boundary of Nos. 27 and 29 and at common boundary of Nos. 11 and 13 (other speed cushions in Hawtrey Avenue will be removed);

(v)  Irving Avenue: 11 metres east of the rear boundary of No. 79 Laughton Road, outside No. 2, and 10 metres north-east of the north-eastern wall of No. 93 Compton Crescent

(vi)  Laughton Road: outside No. 11, outside no.29, outside No. 50, outside No. 61 and outside 85 (these replace existing speed cushions) and outside No. 94 replacing the speed cushions outside 96/98

(vii)  Rubens Road: outside No.10, west of the entrance to the garages by No. 2 and a point 6 metres south-west of the boundary between No. 10 Lynne Way and No. 9 Thorndike Avenue;

(viii)  Vanbrough Crescent: approximately 18 metres south-west of Laing Dean, north-east of No 21, outside No. 102, at the common boundary of Nos. 56 and 58, at the north-western boundary of Nos. 28 to 48, at the common boundary of Nos. 24 and 26, outside No. 10 and outside No.6;

(b)  raised junction entry treatments with a height of approximately 100mm and minimum length of 6 metres

(i)  at the junctions of Hawtrey Avenue with Old Ruislip Road;

(ii)  at the junctions of Langtry Road with Church Road service road;

(iii)  at the junction of Bengarth Road with Church Road;

5.  FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council under section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 propose to provide new zebra pedestrian crossing facilities in Laughton Road at the junction with Hawtrey Avenue and Langtry Road on the existing speed table.

6.  The Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, of the road humps and entry treatments and the zebra crossing are available for inspection during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the offices of Mouchel Limited, 6th Floor, 58 Uxbridge Road, Ealing, London W5 2ST, until 6 weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders.

8.  Any objections or other representations about the proposed Orders or the traffic calming measures and the installation of the zebra crossing should be sent in writing to the Council’s agents, the Mouchel Limited, 6th Floor, 58 Uxbridge Road, Ealing, London W5 2ST, quoting reference ORD 3444/djc until the 5th May 2009. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.

Bengarth Road

the north-east side, between a point 7.54 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 2 and 4 Bengarth Road and a point 10.41 metres north-west of the north-western boundary of No. 386 Church Road
