20 MPH SPEED LIMIT
THE KINGSTON UPON THAMES (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) (NOS. 2-4) TRAFFIC ORDERS 2009
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, on 23rd February 2009 made the above
Orders under section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985.
The general effect of the Orders, which will become operational on 2nd March 2009, will be to impose a 20 mph speed limit
in the following roads:
Lower Marsh Lane area, Surbiton,
Addison Gardens, Burney Avenue, Cheyne Hill, Chumleigh Walk, Eversley Road, Ferguson Avenue, Guilford Avenue, Hill Crescent,
Hillside Road, Lower Marsh Lane (the extent of the carriageway used by motor vehicles), Margaret Lockwood Close, Minniedale,
Minstrel Gardens and Villiers Close.
Devon Way area, Chessington,
Beverley Close, Devon Way, Newlands Way and Stormont Way (between Devon Way and Holsworthy Way).
Cheshire Gardens area, Chessington
Cheshire Gardens, Court Crescent, Hartfield Road, Mansfield Road (to extend the existing 20mph speed limit to include the
whole length) and Sussex Gardens.
2. The Orders, and other documents giving more detailed particulars including plans showing the lengths of road affected,
are available for inspection until 6th April 2009 at:-
• the 2nd Floor Reception Area, Guildhall 2, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 1EU between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays
inclusive;
• Hook & Chessington Library, The Hook Centre, Hook Road, Chessington during normal opening hours;
• Surbiton Library, Ewell Road, Surbiton during normal opening hours.
3. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it
is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof
or that any of the relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order may make application
for the purpose to the High Court by 6th April 2009.
