RELATING TO CAMDEN ROAD, HIGHGROVE MEWS, KYNERSLEY CLOSE, WEST STREET, WILLIAM STREET, WRYTHE GREEN, WRYTHE GREEN ROAD AND
WRYTHE LANE CARSHALTON
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton proposes to make the above Order under sections 84 and 124 of, and Part IV
of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985, the Road Traffic Act
1991 and the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (Amendment) Order 1999.
2. The principal objective of the Order is to provide a safer environment for pedestrians.
3. The general effect of the Order will be to:
(a) introduce a speed limit of 20 mph in:-
(i) Camden Road, Carshalton;
(ii) Highgrove Mews, Carshalton;
(iii) Kynersley Close, Carshalton;
(iv) William Street, Carshalton;
(v) Wrythe Green, Carshalton; and
(vi) Wrythe Green Road, Carshalton, from its junction with Wrythe Lane to a point 33 metres west of its junction with Green Wrythe
Lane.
(b) extend the lengths of the existing 20 mph speed limit in:
(i) West Street, Carshalton from a point 49 metres south-east of a point opposite the south-eastern boundary of the “Old Rectory”
to its junction with Wrythe Green Road; and
(ii) Wrythe Lane, Carshalton, from its junction with West Street to a point 5 metres south-east of its junction with Brookfield
Avenue.

(a) the draft Order, containing the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order; and
(b) plans showing the locations and effect of the proposals.

8. Persons objecting to the proposed Order should be made aware that in view of the Local Government (Access to Information)
Act 1985, this Council would be legally obliged to make any comments received in response to this Notice open to public inspection,
if requested.
