RELATING TO ALMA ROAD, COLSTON AVENUE, SHORTS ROAD AND WESTMEAD ROAD, CARSHALTON
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton proposes to make the above Orders under sections 6, 84 and 124 of, and Part
IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985, the Road Traffic Act
1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004.
2. The principal objective of the Orders is to provide a safer environment for pedestrians.
3. The general effect of The Sutton (Speed Limit) (20 mph) (No. *) (Amendment No. *) Order 200* will be to:-
(a) introduce a speed limit of 20 mph in:-
(i) Alma Road, Carshalton;
(ii) Shorts Road, Carshalton; and
(iii) Westmead Road, Carshalton, from its junctions with Colston Avenue and Shorts Road to its junction with Coleridge Avenue;
(b) extend the length of the existing 20 mph speed limit in Colston Avenue, Carshalton to include the whole road.

4. The general effect of The Sutton (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (No. *) (Amendment No. *) Order 200* will be to extend the existing waiting restrictions “no waiting at any time” in Shorts Road, Carshalton, by 5 metres in the
vicinity of the footpath that leads to West Street.

5. Full details of the proposals are contained in the following documents:
(a) the draft Orders, containing the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders; and
(b) plans showing the locations and effect of the proposals.

Environment and Leisure, 24 Denmark Road, Carshalton, 9am - 5pm Mon. - Fri.
