HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 - SECTION 90 ROAD HUMP PROPOSALS
THE ISLINGTON (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) (NO.*) ORDER 200*
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Islington proposes to build road humps, a speed cushions,
and raised tables in various streets within the Whittington Park and St Georges Area under Section 90 of the Highways Act
1980, and proposes to make the above mentioned 20mph Speed Limit Order under Section 6 and 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9
to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Local Government Act 1985.
2. The road humps, speed cushions, and raised tables at junctions and entry points are designed to improve pedestrian and road
safety by slowing down vehicles and reducing the levels of traffic.
3. The sinusoidal speed humps would be constructed and maintained with a maximum height of 100 millimeters and a width of 3.7
meters in the direction of traffic at the following locations:
Archibald Road
(a) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 16 and 18 Archibald Road.
Beversbrook Road
(a) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 22 and 24 Beversbrook Road;
(b) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 50 and 52 Beversbrook Road; and
(c) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 74 and 76 Beversbrook Road.
Campdale Road
(a) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 6 and 7 Campdale Road; and
(b) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 13 and 14 Campdale Road.
Celia Road
(a) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 9 and 11 Celia Road.
Corinne Road
(a) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 9 and 11 Corinne Road;
(b) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 31 and 33 Corinne Road; and
(c) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 83 and 85 Corinne Road.
Dalmeny Road
(a) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 46 and 48 Dalmeny Road;
(b) at a point 7 meters south of the southern boundary wall of No 21 Dalmeny Road; and
(c) on Dalmeny Road at its junction with Anson Road.
Fairmead Road
(a) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 34 and 36 Fairmead Road; and
(b) outside Nos. 17 and 19 Fairmead Road.
Foxham Road
(a) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 11 and 13 Foxham Road;
(b) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 37 and 39 Foxham Road;
(c) outside No. 53 Foxham Road; and
(d) at a point 10 meters north-east of the north-eastern boundary wall of No 65 Foxham Road.

(a) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 9 and 11 Southcote Road.
Station Road
(a) at a point 62 meters south-west of the south-western kerb-line of Huddleston Road;
(b) at a point 10 meters north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Huddleston Road; and
(c) at a point 88 meters north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Huddleston Road.
St George’s Avenue
(a) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 36 and 38 St George’s Avenue; and
(b) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 94 and 96.
Tavistock Terrace
(a) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 1 and 3 Tavistock Terrace; and
(b) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 43 and 45 Tavistock Terrace.
Thytherton Road
(a) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 2 and 4 Thytherton Road;
(b) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 23 and 25 Thytherton Road;
(c) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 43 and 45 Thytherton Road; and
(d) outside No. 53 Thytherton Road.
Warrender Road
(a) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 31b/d and 32a/c Warrender Road.
Wedmore Gardens
(a) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 25 and 27 Wedmore Gardens.
Wedmore Street
(a) opposite No. 37 Wedmore Street; and
(b) opposite No. 9 Wedmore Street.
Yerbury Road
(a) opposite the common boundary of Nos. 77 and 79 Yerbury Road;

4. The raised tables would be constructed and maintained with a maximum height of 100 millimetres in the direction of traffic
at the following locations:
(a) St John’s Grove at its junction with Junction Road;
(b) Pemberton Gardens at its junction with Holloway Road; and
(c) Dalmeny Road at its junction with Archibald Road.
5. Replace existing speed cushions with flat top humps and Sinusoidal ramps at the following locations:
Tufnell Park Road
(a) outside No. 234 Tufnell Park Road;
(b) outside No. 202 Tufnell Park Road;
(c) outside No. 196 Tufnell Park Road;
(d) outside No. 164 Tufnell Park Road;
(e) outside No. 130 Tufnell Park Road;
(f) outside No. 102 Tufnell Park Road;
(g) outside No. 80 Tufnell Park Road;
(h) outside No. 50 Tufnell Park Road;
(i) outside No. 42 Tufnell Park Road;
(j) outside No. Margaret Fry Court, Tufnell Park Road;
(k) outside No. 10 Tufnell Park Road; and
(l) outside No. 4 Tufnell Park Road.
6. The speed cushions would be constructed and maintained with a maximum height of 100 millimetres and a width of 1.8 metres
in the direction of traffic at Monnery Road.
7. The general effect of the 20mph Order would be to reduce vehicle speeds and therefore improve safety by introducing a 20 mph
speed limit zone on the following streets; Hargrave Road, St Johns Grove, Pemberton Gardens, Francis Terrace, Pemberton Terrace,
Station Road, Huddleston Road, Warrender Road, Tufnell Park Road, Southgate Road, Lady Margaret Road, Celia Road, Corinne
Road, Hugo Road, Archibald Road, Dalmeny Road, St Georges Avenue, Campdale Road, Foxham Road, Yerbury Road, Beversbrooke Road,
Tytherham Road, Gatcombe Road, Mercers Road, Wedmore Street, Tavistock Terrace, Fairmead Road, Pemberton Terrace, St John’s
Grove, Monnery Road, Windermere Road, Wiley Road, Ward Road, Greatfield Close, Southcote Road, Fulbrook Road, Littlefield
Close, Tufnell Park Road, Rupert Road and Highwood Road.
