THE TOWER HAMLETS (20 M.P.H. SPEED LIMIT) (NO.3) ORDER 2008
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, on 22nd December 2008 made the above-mentioned
Order under under sections 84 (1)(a) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government
Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. The provisions of the above Order and the streets to which they apply are shown in
item 2 to this notice and where previously advertised in the East End Life on 3rd November 2008 under the title of; The Tower
Hamlets (20 M.P.H. Speed Limit) (No.3) Traffic Order 2008.
2. The general effect of The Tower Hamlets (20 m.p.h. Speed Limit) (No.3) Order 2008 will be that no person shall drive a motor
vehicle at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour on any of the following lengths of road:—
Bacon Street; Brick Lane, between its junction with Cheshire Street and its junction with Bethnal Green Road; Buckfast Street;
Cheshire Street; Chilton Street; Cygnet Street; Derbyshire Street, between its junction with the western kerbline of Vallance
Road and its junction with Buckfast Street; Dunbridge Street, between its junction with the western kerbline of Vallance Road
and its junction with Hereford Street; Granby Street, between its junction with Chilton Street and a point 45 metres west
of Chilton Street; Hereford Street; Kerbela Street; Ramsey Street; St. Matthew’s Row; Sale Street; Sclater Street; Voss Street,
between its junction with the western kerbline of Vallance Road and its junction with Buckfast Street; Wood Close.
3. A copy of the Order which will come into operation on 12th January 2009 can be inspected, by prior appointment, at the offices
of Communities, Localities and Culture, Transportation and Highways Department, Design Group Section, Anchorage House, c/o
Mulberry Place, P. O. Box 55739, 5 Clove Crescent, London E14 2BG during normal office, during normal office hours on Monday
to Fridays inclusive, until the expiration of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice was made.
4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision provided therein on the grounds that it is not
within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any
relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks of the date
on which this notice was made, make an application for the purpose to the High Court.
