Notice of application for a licence to abstract water

Take notice that Mr. and Mrs. G. Carter, of Rectory Farm, The Old Rectory, Elmley Lovett, Worcestershire WR9 0PS, are applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from the Elmley Brook at National Grid Reference SO 8686 6969 at Elmley Lovett.   The proposal is to abstract water at 12.6 cubic metres per hour, 302.4 cubic metres per day and 110,376 cubic metres per year (between 1st January and 31st December each year) to power a hydraulic ram for the purpose of topping-up amenity pools near the Elmley Brook. Only 2.1 cubic metres per hour (50 cubic metres per day and 18,250 cubic metres per year) will be used for this purpose, the remainder will all be returned to the brook except for the small loss due to seepage and evaporation.   A copy of this notice and any map, plans and other document submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at the Cutnall Green Post Office WR9 0PQ, between 8th January 1998 and 7th February 1998.   Any person wishing to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Hafren House, Welshpool Road, Shelton, Shrewsbury SY3 8BB, before the end of the said period.
